Healthcare Reform - Is it Time to Panic or Rejoice?

Does Healthcare Reform mean that it is time to panic or rejoice? Is there a grand Government conspiracy to socialize health care or is there a need for genuine health care reform to fix a broken system?

Is the day of relief from greedy and high handed insurance companies at hand or is it the dawning of a Government take over of Healthcare which will usher in new perils manifesting as insurmountable debt?

There seems to be no middle ground! Offered below are some of the arguments for both sides.

THOSE IN FAVOR CLAIM
	The burden of health care cost is suffocating them
	Health insurances are more interested in making a profit rather than in the patient’s health
	A high number of bankruptcies are due to medical expenses which were not covered or under covered by medical insurance
	There are more than 49 million Americans who have no health insurance at all
	There should be a Government Option allowing Government to provide coverage if private insurance companies failed to
	Insurance companies should not make decisions on what care they should receive; that should be done by Doctors and Patients.

THOSE NOT IN FAVOR CLAIM
	Government’s involvement would mean a government take over of health care
	Those with health insurance will have to give up their health insurance
	Government is woefully inept at running anything
	This would lead to huge waste and huge budget deficits; burdens which will be passed on to future generations
	The Government Option will crowd out private insurance
	Tort reform must be an integral part of any health care reform
	They don’t want the Government coming between them and their doctor
