Effects of excess Vitamin K

Children and newborn infants and may be especially sensitive to the effects of excess Vitamin K.

Very large doses of artificial vitamin K may result in vitamin k overdose causing anemia in newborn infants and hemolysis in patients with glucose-6-phosphate deficiency.

Additionally, vitamin k side effects can result when Supplements of vitamin K are used habitually or ingested in large quantities resulting in interference with oral anticoagulants.
